Tiger Trout Reproductions
( Gary Bruch reproductions)

Here is a sequence of pictures that show how I painted these 2 reproduction Tiger Trout.  A Tiger Trout is a hybrid trout (Brown trout x Brook trout).  They are in different parts of the country...and rarely do two look the same from different lakes.  They can be quite variable in pattern and color.  Although I tried to take lots of pics when I painted these tiger trout, there are lots of steps (color applications) that are not documented.  These are just the basics to illustrate a way (not THE WAY) to achieve an end result.  I replaced some of the fins and used some of the fins that were provided.  I use water based paints (mostly Polystranspar) through airbrushes (Paasche & Iwata), oil pastel crayons, different powder paints, and water color pencils.  I reproduce river rocks by molding (latex rubber) the rocks and then use bondo to make the rocks and paint with water based paints (sponged on).
